Ghana and Vitoria Guimaraes defender Gideon Mensah has resumed full training after sitting out of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé and PrÃncipe.
The 22-year-old sustained a low back injury in Vitoria Guimaraes’ 4-2 defeat to Gil Vicente in the Portuguese Primera Liga, hence withdrawing from the squad.
Mensah is recovering from the injury he picked up and was pictured training with his teammates at Vitoria Guimaraes.
He is expected to be available for selection against Tondela on Sunday.
The highly-rated left-back has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Guimaraes this season.
Mensah joined Portuguese side on a season long loan with an option to buy last summer.
He spent last season on loan at Zulte Waregem in Belgium where he played 23 games registering three assists in the process.
