Asamoah Gyan’s business manager, Samuel Anim Addo has asked Asante Kotoko to look at the benefits his client will offer the club instead of money.
Gyan is currently a free agent after leaving Indian Super League side NorthEast United FC in January.
The all-time top scorer for Ghana has been linked with a transfer to boyhood club Asante Kotoko ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Earlier report in the local media suggested that the Ghana legend has demanded for $400,000 as signing-on fee before putting pen to paper in the ongoing transfer window.
The report further stated that the former Udinese Calcio striker proposed move to Kotoko have hit a snag due to his colossal transfer demand.
Reacting to the news, Anim Addo who double as an Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has entreated the porcupine warriors to be keen about the positives the player brings on board rather than money.
Speaking to Angel FM in Accra, he said, “I don’t know where the news is coming from that Gyan is demanding for such amount and even if that is the case, how many supporters do Kotoko have? Kotoko have about ten million fans and if they should secure the services of Gyan and sells one of his replica for GHC10, what will be the benefit” he asked rhetorically.
He continued that, “You look at the marketability, promotion wise and benefits he can make for the club. The number of goals he will provide has not been mentioned and to me we should look at the positives of bringing such a player to the club, finding a strategy to get him, let him be in the game and lets all benefits”
