Head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Charles Kwabla Akonnor has practically asked Ghanaians to take it easy on Baba Rahman as he believes returning to the field after several injuries as a footballer isn’t an easy task.
Baba, after struggling against South Africa last Thursday at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg received a lot of backlash from Ghanaians.
However, he redeemed himself with an outstanding performance against Sao Tome and Principe as he subsequently scored his debut goal for the national team.
According to Akonnor, it is about time Ghanaians rally behind him to get better rather than criticizing him.
At the post-match conference, Akonnor said, “This boy has been through a lot okay through injuries and stuffs, he got injured here when he was in the AFCON, I mean who be the best people to help him I mean I think is a bit too harsh the way we criticizing him”
“Yes he is on his way to be better and he will do well in the coming days. Now he is got a club he is going to play regularly and things will change for him but I think we are bit hard on him” he said.
