Ghana international midfielder Kwame Adubofour Poku Afriyie will be working with a new trainer, Hayden Mullins at Colchester United.
Hayden Mullins was named new manager of the English fourth tier side after the club parted ways Wayne Brown on Wednesday.
Poku, who won the club best young player award last season is expected to play a key role under Hayden Mullins.
He had struggled for game time in the past two games for the club under then trainer Wayne Brown.
The 19-year old made his Ghana bow in the side's 3-1 win over Sao Tome in a final 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Sunday.
He replaced Ajax star Mohammed Kudus and lasted few minutes on the pitch at the Accra Sports stadium.
Despite Ghanaians raising concerns about his call-up he has capped for the country.
The enterprising midfielder has played 31 in all competitions for the club in the ongoing season.
His outfit are 21st on the league table with 39 points from 38 games.
