Unhappy Medeama fans demand explanation from club's hierarchy over Samuel Boadu departure

Some aggrieved supporters of Ghana Premier League side Medeama stormed the club's training grounds on Thursday morning to lock up the players and the technical staff in the protest against the departure of head coach Samuel Boadu.

Boadu, who joined Medeama in 2017 resigned from his post with immediate effect few hours after leading the team to beat Eleven Wonders in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

He tendered in his resignation citing personal reasons for his decision.

According to reports, the peeved fans prevented the playing body and technical team from leaving the Akoon Park after the team's daily training session.

The supporters are demanding explanation from the club’s hierarchy over Samuel Boadu’s resignation after guiding them to a 2-0 home victory over Eleven Wonders on Wednesday.

"We are not happy with the recent happenings at the club [Medeama SC]. We need an explanation of the coach's [Samuel Boadu] resignation" A fan narrated.

"Something is wrong somewhere...how can a coach resign from a club that has won three matches in a row and now among the top four clubs?" he quizzed

The chaos at the Akoon Park on Thursday morning took the intervention of the bankroller of Medeama SC, Moses Parker to calm down the peeved fans.

Samuel Boadu was at the Akoon Park to say good bye to the entire playing board and the technical team this morning.

It is believed that the 35-year-old tactician has reached an agreement with Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak to take over their vacant coaching job.
