Columbus Crew captain, Jonathan Mensah is not shutting the door on a possible return to Europe before he hangs up his boots.
Mensah has been impressive in his time in the Major League Soccer [MLS], leading Crew to the MLS Cup in 2020 and also being named in the MLS team of the year in his fourth season.
Despite the successes chalked, he failed to rule out returning to mainstream Europe where he once featured for the likes of Evian Thonon and Anzhi Makhachkala
“Never say never," he told Planet Football Africa in an interview.
"What will get your name out there is if you keep putting in good performances week in and week out for your team.
“This league has been tagged a retirement league but it has attracted big superstars in the likes of Zlatan, Frank Lampard, Rooney among others.
That tells you how competitive this league is and it’s getting even better and better,” he added.
