Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama Dos Santos marked his Asante Kotoko debut on Sunday afternoon when the team drew 1-1 against Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors club secured the services of the former Brazil U-20 man in October this year to strengthen its squad for the new football season.
Although he arrived in Ghana in November, his debut for Asante Kotoko had to delay due to documentation with regards to his work permit.
With those issues cleared out of the way last week, Fabio Gama finally was named as a substitute for the Reds today when they made the trip to the Akoon Park to take on Medeama SC.
In the 81st minute, he came on to replace forward Godfred Asiamah to make his first appearances for his new club.
Unfortunately, he does not get to celebrate a win on his debut at the end of the game as a late penalty converted by Mohammed Abass canceled a strike from Kwame Poku to force the game to end in a draw.
Fabio Gama in subsequent matches is expected to earn a starting role and will be a key man for the team as they eye winning the Ghana Premier League.
