Ghanaian international Afriyie Acquah netted a consolation goal for Yeni Malatyaspor on Sunday morning when the team suffered a 3-1 defeat to Erzurumspor BB in the Turkish Super Lig.
The midfielder has been impressive for the side since the 2020/2021 football season commenced.
In a matchday 15 encounter today, Afriyie Acquah started for Yeni Malatyaspor at the Malatya Stadyumu to help his team fight for a win against Erzurumspor.
A good first-half display from the away team produced a goal in the 44th minute when Ricardo Gomes scored with a fine effort.
After recess, Yeni Malatyaspor improved their game as they pushed for an equalizer to draw level.
Following several attempts of asking, the home side finally scored through Afriyie Acquah to restore parity.
Unfortunately, goals from Mitchell Donald and Gabriel Obertan meant that Erzurumspor BB condemned Yeni Malatyaspor to a 3-1 defeat.
On the matchday, Ghana’s Afriyie Acquah lasted 72 minutes of the action before his place was taken by Moryke Fofana.
