Exclusive: Thomas Boakye signs new two-year contract extension with Swedish Allsvenskan side Halmstad BK

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Boakye has signed a new two-year contract extension with Swedish Allsvenskan side Halmstad BK, Footballghana.com can exclusively confirm.

Boakye, 27, has cemented his name in the first team and has become a key play for the club since joining from Varbergs Bois in 2018.

The Kumasi born midfielder whose contract expired on November 27, 2020, signed a new deal due to his brilliant performance at the club.

On Friday, he put pen to paper on the new deal which will expire on December 31, 2022, at the club’s headquarters.

Speaking after signing his new deal, Boakye thanked the club for the trust reposed in him.

“It feels great to play in the Allsvenskan with HBK,” he says.

“Magnus likes my attitude on the pitch and on the sidelines. I always do my best for HBK and have respect for the club, and I was very happy when he wanted me to sign a new contract. It feels great to play in the Allsvenskan with HBK, says Thomas Boakye, to the club's website.

He has appeared 80 times since moving to the club in 2018.
