Newly signed Asante Kotoko defender Yusif Mubarik says he is ready for the challenge after sealing a transfer to the Porcupine Warriors ahead of the season.
The 23-year-old joined the Kumasi based club on a three-year deal after ending his stints with Ashantigold SC.
Mubarik faces a stern competition in the Kotoko setup due to the availability of several top defenders.
But according to him he is ready to fight for a place in the team.
“I knew Kotoko had good players before I joined them. In every team there should be competition and in the absence of a players, there should be a replacement”
“My aim is to help the team and raise it standards but what I want to emphasized is that I’m ready for competition. I believe the competition in the team will help us improve” he said.
Asante Kotoko will commence their GPL campaign against Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Accra Sports Stadium.
