Kotoko to strengthen squad with three new signings from Africa

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have set sights on augmenting their squad with three new signings from the Africa continent as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.

The porcupine warriors have agreed to play in Africa and according to the clubs communications director, Moses Antwi Benefo, management together with the board have agreed to sign at least three new players who ply their trade on the continent.

The Kumasi based club in recent years have struggled to make a meaningful impact in Africa inter club competition.

However, in management bid to do well in the 2020/21 CAF Champions League season, they are eyeing move for players on the continent to beef up their charges.

“Our aim is to get a CHAN like team to participate in Africa and doing so, management have decided to beef up squad with two or three players from the Africa soil and in that same pursue we will give opportunities to two or three players from our youth team so they can under study the senior players” he told Vision 1 FM.

“The board and management after a broad consultation agreed to augment the team if we are to compete well in Africa. They thought of having a competitive squad like the CHAN team of Ghana and it is believe of the board and management with that squad the team can do well” he said.
