Dr Nsiah Asare urges local players to be self-discipline after going through COVID-19 test

Dr Nsiah-Asare, presidential advisor on health has cautioned local players to stay discipline after going through the mandatory coronavirus test.

With the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League [GPL] set to start on November 13, players and technical team members are to go through a mandatory test.

And according to Mr Asare, players must ensure they stay focus and discipline after the test.

"We have told all clubs to conduct an initial test for all their players before they start camping. We would have wished they camp at a clubhouse or rented hotels. But it seems only Wafa and Ashantigold have their own facilities. We have talked about it so I know those who can get a camping place will do that," he told Kumasi based Hello FM.

"The responsibility is on the GFA but we will give them the technical advice. They may test the players again a few days to the start of the league and based on the signs and symptoms we'll know what to do.

"The players need to be self-disciplined because if a player tests positive he'll be out for two weeks and that will make the player lose his position. So, they need to be very disciplined after going through the test.

"In fact, we told all clubs to conduct the test and camp the players at one place, that's the best but we know some of the clubs can not afford the cost involved.

"But looking at Europe they don't camp the players. They have been huh going home although the virus is widely spread over there.
