The multi-purpose sports facility, which plays host to a number of Ashanti region-based clubs and other clubs outside the region is part of the ongoing stadia renovation with the broken seats been replace and some major grounds work.
The Sports Ministry together with the National Sports Authority is renovating all the stadia across the country with Accra Sports Stadium first on the list.
Essipong Sports stadium, built for the CAN 2008 AFCON tournament, is also set to be given a massive facelift with a $3 million valuation contract confirmed by the Sports Ministry.
Renovation works at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium is expected to be completed by October this year.
