King Faisal midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei wants the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season cancelled after it was halted due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
The GPL has been on suspension since March after the President, Nana Akufo Addo announced the cancellation of all public gatherings including sporting events.
The return of the topflight remains uncertain with opinions divided as to whether it should be continued or cancelled.
The FA is yet to make an official statement about the future of the current campaign as CAF issues May 5, 2020 as deadline day for the Ghana Football Association to decide.
However, Nii Adjei believes the best decision now is to nullify the league for the safety of players.
Speaking to Angel FM in Kumasi, he imperiled not to return to the pitch if the leadership of the FA decides to continue with the league now as he strongly believes contact will be made with the players on the pitch placing his life on ventilator.
“We should not think about playing the league now because the virus is dangerous. I’m currently into tennis at my house and I’m not thinking of a return to the pitch anytime soon. Human life is much important than football”
He implored the authorities to emulate the French and end the season.
The former Asante Kotoko player is the highest earner at King Faisal.
